A man is awarded a six figure sum in compensation for injuries he sustained due to an accident at his workplace
Accident Circumstances: Our client arrived at the site of his workplace and was just passing through a gap in the fence leading to the car park when he tripped and fell due to a broken fence which had been trampled into the ground. As a result of the fall he suffered serious injuries. As a result of his injuries our client had to undergo surgery to his hand.
Our Client’s Injuries: Broken hand, torn ligaments.
What did Hayward Baker Solicitors do to help: One of our personal injury specialists Verity Taylor who is a solicitor and a Litigator Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), a not-for-profit organisation which exists to fight for the rights of injured people, took on the case on a no-win-no-fee basis and sent a letter of claim to the defendant, who denied liability. Verity being a very experienced personal injury solicitor managed to turn round the liability decision and two months after the denial of liability was received the defendant admitted liability in full.
We obtained medical evidence to prove our client’s injuries and documentary evidence to prove the accident was caused by the broken fence and was the responsibility of the defendant to maintain in good order.
We obtained a sum of money for our clients out of pocket expenses (special damages) to include travelling and medical expenses.
Resolution: Our client was awarded £108,769.00 in compensation and special damages.
