Our Brighton Cyclist client receives £14,000 compensation after a car knocks him off of his bicycle

Accident in Brighton

Our client was cycling along an A road in Brighton when the Defendant drove out of a side road and collided with him.

This caused our client to fall from his bicycle and ultimately suffer from both injuries and financial losses.

The Injuries:

A shoulder injury, ligament damage to the acromioclavicular joint and travel anxiety were all caused.

How Hayward Baker Helped:

One of our Personal Injury Specialists Gary Lee made the claim through the Low Value Personal Injury Claims Portal.

After investigating our client’s claim, the defendant insurers didn’t admit liability in the time frame given. Because of this, the claim was taken out the current claims process but would still continue.

The Defendant insurers then had three months to finish their enquiries, and once they had completed their investigation, liability was finally admitted.

Gary had already obtained medical evidence to support our client’s injuries through arranging medical appointments with both a General Practitioner and an Orthopaedic Consultant.

After examining our client, the two medical experts wrote up reports upon the injuries, and these reports let Gary correctly value our client’s claim.

The Valuation:

Once Gary had all the necessary medical evidence to prove that the injuries were caused by the accident and had full details of all financial losses, he negotiated with the Defendant insurer to reach a fair settlement.

This settlement covered compensation for our client’s injuries and a small amount for out of pocket expenses including: loss of earnings, travel expenses, medical expenses and home care and assistance.

The Resolution:

Our client’s claim was ultimately settled in full by Gary for £14,000.
