Building site worker hit by scaffold pole wins damages for his injuries

scaffolding-595607_640Our client was working as a plumber on a building site in London. As he was walking at ground level an unsecured scaffold pole fell and hit him in the face and shin. As a result of this accident in thew workplace our client suffered injury and loss.

Our Client’s Injuries: Chipped tooth, swollen mouth, head injury and cut to leg.

How Hayward Baker Solicitors helped: We took on this accident at work case on a no win no fee basis and ran the claim via the online personal injury insurers portal.

We did not receive an acknowledgement from the portal in the time frame allowed and therefore left the portal process. Very soon after this we received an acknowledgement from the defendant insurers that we were to redirect the claim to another contractor on the site. Now we had the correct defendant they investigated immediate and admitted liability for the accident.

We arranged two appointments for our client to be examined by medical experts who would then formulate a report upon their injuries. The medical experts instructed were an Accident and Emergency Consultant and a Dentist.

Both reports confirmed our client’s injuries were as a result of the accident and gave a final prognosis, there was no further treatment required for our client’s injuries.

Resolution: We negotiated a settlement figure of £3,200.00 for our client.
