£12,000 compensation from driver whose vehicle collided with other cars

accident in traffic queueThe Situation:

Our client was a passenger in a vehicle driven by the defendant. As they were travelling along the A34, they approached a line of stationary vehicles at around 70mph.

The defendant failed to see the queue of traffic in time. To avoid the collision, they tried to drive through the gap between the vehicles and the central reservation. In doing so, he collided with five other vehicles.

As a result of the collision, our client suffered personal injuries.

The Injuries:

Due to this accident our client received injuries to the left ankle and coccyx, a bleed behind their eye causing floaters and visual disturbance, and severe travel anxiety.

How Hayward Baker Helped:

One of our Personal Injury Specialists Susan Burden claimed through the low value Road Traffic Accident insurer’s online portal.

The defendant’s insurer studied the claim. They then informed Susan that liability was admitted on behalf of their insurer.

A number of medical reports were attained from the following: A General Practitioner, an Ophthalmologist, a Psychiatrist, and a Maxillo Facial Surgeon. These reports were needed to show that our client’s injuries were a direct result of the accident.

Two sessions of physiotherapy were arranged for our client, in addition to counselling for anxiety and three visits to a Cranial Osteopath.

The Valuation:

Susan claimed for our client’s loss of earnings, travel expenses to and from medical appointments, medical expenses, and possible future medical expenses.

Once all sufficient medical evidence was given and full details of all of our client’s losses due to the accident were provided, Susan negotiated a settlement.

The Resolution:

Our client’s claim was finally settled in full by Hayward Baker for £12,920.54.
