Our client was a customer in a coffee ship and after 20 minutes she was asked to leave as it was closing time. She quickly went and used the toilet and when she came back the main floor area had been mopped so was really wet and slippery. There was no warning given to our client or any signs placed to warn of the slip hazard and our client slipped and fell suffering injury.
Our Client’s Injuries:
Left leg and hamstring, right knee, upper back and neck injury plus headaches.
The compensation Claim:
Hayward Baker took on this claim on a No Win No Fee basis and ran the claim via the low value personal injury claims on-line insurers portal.
The cafe insurers responded to us and denied liability but Hayward Baker collated enough evidence to change their stance to liability admitted.
To prove our client’s injuries we arranged for our client to see an Orthopaedic Consultant who formulated a report upon our client’s injuries. It was this report that was also used to value our client’s claim for compensation and associated losses such as:
- Medical expenses
- Damaged clothing
Proceeding on this matter were issued but was settled before it went to Court.
Resolution:
Our client’s claim settled for £6,500
