Our client was riding his bike down a hill road in Ipswich when suddenly without warning a stationary car door was opened into his path.
Our client did not have time to take evasive action and the door struck our client causing him to fall off his bike and as a result he suffered injury.
The emergency services were called and our client was taken to Ipswich hospital for treatment.
Our Client’s Injuries
As a result of the accident our client suffered injury to his left arm and hand, neck, right ankle, left knee and groin.
How Hayward Baker Helped:
One of our Personal Injury Specialists Gary Lee made the claim through the Low Value Personal Injury Claims Portal.
After investigating our client’s claim, the defendant insurers initially denied liability for the accident but this was soon turned around by Gary after he gathered witness and other evidence in favour of our client.
Gary obtained medical evidence to support our client’s injuries through arranging medical appointments with both a General Practitioner and an Orthopaedic Consultant who both examined our client and formulated a report upon his injuries.
The medical reports stated that the injuries were as a result of the accident and that physiotherapy was required to help aid recovery.
The physiotherapy was arranged privately for our client and was paid for by the defendant insurers.
Both medical reports were used by Gary to value our client’s claim for compensation which included a claim for special damages (out of pocket expenses) which consisted of travelling expenses incurred when going to medical appointments and sessions of physiotherapy.
Once Gary had all the necessary medical evidence to prove that the injuries were caused by the accident and had full details of all financial losses, he negotiated with the Defendant insurer to reach a fair settlement.
Our client’s claim was ultimately settled in full by Gary for £8,500.00.
