Damages awarded to motorcycle accident victim

Motorcyclist awarded compensation for being injured by a reckless car driver

motorbike accidentA man who was injured whilst riding his motorcycle receives a five figure sum in personal injury compensation.

Accident Circumstances: Our client was riding his motorcycle along Brikett Wood in St Albans when the defendant driving a Honda Civic car in the opposite direction negligently turned across his path without warning causing our client to be thrown off his motorbike into the road.

Client’s Injuries: Our client sustained a broken collar bone and grazes to his right leg.

What did Hayward Baker Solicitors do to help: One of our personal injury specialists Alison Spriggs who is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives took on the case on a no-win-no-fee basis and sent a letter of claim to the defendant, who initially denied liability for the accident. We gathered evidence to show that the accident was not the fault of our client and obtained expert  medical evidence to support our client’s injuries and to enable us to value his claim. Liability was eventually conceded by the defendant without the need for court proceedings.

In addition to our client’s compensation for his injuries we obtained a sum of monies for his loss of earnings, a damaged mobile phone and care and assistance around the home while he was recuperating.

Resolution: £18,000.00
