Four figure sum awarded to motorist who was in a road traffic collision on a roundabout

road-traffic-accidentMotorist who was correctly driving his car around a roundabout is awarded  four figures in personal injury compensation.

Accident Circumstances: Our client was driving his vehicle in the correct manner around a roundabout in Leicester when without warning the defendant drove his vehicle into our client. As a result of the road traffic collision our client suffered personal injuries.

Our Client’s injuries: Soft tissue damage to right shoulder. Bruising to stomach and torso.

What did Hayward Baker Solicitors do to help: One of our personal injury specialists Alison Spriggs who is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives took on the case on a no-win-no-fee basis and sent a letter of claim to the defendant blaming them for the accident because they attempted to overtake our client’s vehicle on it’s nearside when it was unsafe to do so, failed to heed or observe the presence of our client’s vehicle and failed to give passage to our client’s correctly proceeding vehicle.

Liability was admitted by the defendant.

A medical appointment was going to be arranged for our client so he could be examined by a medical expert who would formulate a report upon our client’s injuries. It was this report that would help prove our client’s injuries and aid Alison in valuing the compensation claim.

However the insurers made a pre-medical offer to settle our client’s claim without us having to go to the expense of obtaining a medical report.

We informed  our client that without medical evidence we could not advise as to the likely financial value of their claim.

After considering our advice our client accepted the offer to settle the case without the need for medical evidence.

Resolution: Our client was awarded £1,700.00 in damages.
