Passenger in a taxi claims compensation after road traffic collision
Hayward Baker’s client was sat in a stationary taxi at traffic lights near Harrods in Knightsbridge, London. The defendant then drove his vehicle into the back of the taxi, which caused a collision.
As a result, our client received a personal injury.
Our client received injuries to her neck, shoulders and lower back. In addition to this, she suffered with dizziness and migraines.
How Hayward Baker Helped:
One of our personal injury specialists Alison Springs decided to take on this case; Alison is an experienced solicitor, and offered to help on a no win no fee basis.
As this case was a low value road traffic accident, the claim was made online through the insurer’s accident portal. Following this, the defendant then admitted liability for the accident within three weeks.
Alison then arranged for our client to be examined by a General Practioner. Following the appointment, the medical expert wrote up a report on our client’s injuries.
This report was used by Alison to prove that our client’s injuries were caused by the accident. Alison then valued the claim for personal injury compensation.
Alison claimed back a two-week loss of earnings as part of a special damages claim (Out of pocket expenses); our client was unable to work for two weeks due to the injuries she received.
Hayward Baker also arranged for a course of physiotherapy, which was paid for by the defendant’s insurers. Alison negotiated a fair settlement figure for our client for the general damages (Injuries) received and out of pocket expenses (special damages).
With all of these aspects taken into account, Alison was able to make a fair and accurate valuation.
Within five months from when Hayward Baker was instructed, the whole claim was settled. Our client ultimately received a settlement figure of £3,066.00.
