Mother injured by a vehicle trailer whilst putting her daughter in her car seat receives compensation
Mother receives compensation for injuries sustained when she was injured by a vehicle trailer.
Accident Circumstances: While she was putting her daughter in a child seat at the side of the road in Rochester Kent our client noticed another vehicle approaching her so she lent into the vehicle to avoid being hit. However, as the car passed her safely the trailer it was towing ran over our client’s left foot which caused her to suffer a personal injury.
Our client’s Injuries: Soft tissue injury and ligament damage to left foot.
What did Hayward Baker Solicitors do to help: One of our personal injury specialists Alison Spriggs who is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives took on the case on a no-win-no-fee basis and sent a letter of claim to the defendant, who initially denied liability for the accident but this was turned round by Alison, however there was still a contributory negligence argument where the defendant believes that our client was partly to blame for the accident. Eventually the defendant insurers admitted full liability for the accident.
We claimed back travelling expenses for our client along with a small amount for telephone calls and postage costs relating to the accident.
Resolution: Case settled for £1,500.00
