Our client was the front seat passenger in a vehicle being driven by her partner in Newport on the Isle of Wight. As they were travelling along Downs Road approaching the junction with Lime Kiln Shute, a van pulled out directly into their path. The driver braked and tried to steer to the left to avoid a collision but their vehicle hit the passenger side door of the van. As result of the impact, out client suffered seat belt bruising and soft tissue “whiplash” injuries to her back and neck. She also experienced headaches. Fortunately, liability was not disputed and our client made a good recovery allowing our experienced personal injury team to negotiate a settlement of £1500 by way of compensation for injuries and expenses with the van driver’s insurers
