At the time of the accident, our client was working at a private building site in Bournemouth. There was a van parked up nearby owned by the Defendant , and a male , the Defendants servant or agent sat inside . The Claimant checked and there was no banksman and no reversing light. As our client passed behind the vehicle, suddenly and without warning, the Defendants servant or agent reversed into him causing him personal injury.

How Hayward Baker helped
This multi track case was run by one of our senior lawyers Verity Taylor.
Liability was admitted and therefore our only steps were to prove that the injuries were as a result of the accident and we did this by getting our client examined by a number of medical experts who formulated a report on our client’s injuries. It was these reports that we used to prove our client’s injuries and also to value the claim for damages (compensation for injuries) and special damages (out of pocket expenses as a result of the accident).
The expenses that our client incurred as a direct result of the accident were:
- Travel Expenses to and from medical appointments
- Loss of earnings
- care and assistance
Besides negotiating a settlement figure with the defendant insurers we also took steps to alleviate our client’s symptoms and aid recovery by arranging physiotherapy treatment.
Value of compensation and losses awarded
Our client was awarded damages of over £28,000 inclusive of special damages
