Cycling Accident Claim
Hayward Baker’s client was cycling along London Road in Newark. As they filtered past slow moving traffic, the defendant attempted to turn right into a petrol station without indicating or giving any other warning.
The defendant knocked our client off of his bicycle as a result, and our client therefore suffered a personal injury.
Our client received soft tissue damage to his left arm and elbow in addition to bruising on his left hand.
How Hayward Baker Helped:
One of our personal injury specialists made the claim through the low value Road Traffic Accident insurer’s portal online.
The defendant’s insurer’s responded after investigating the claim and admitted liability in full for the accident.
Hayward Baker then arranged for our client to be examined by a General Practitioner. After examining our client, the GP formulated a report upon the injuries.
It was this medical expert’s report that provided proof that our client’s injuries were a direct result of the accident. This further helped our personal injury expert to value this claim for the correct amount of compensation.
In addition to our client’s claim for general damages (compensation for injuries), Hayward Baker also drafted a schedule of special damages (our client’s out of pocket expenses), and claimed money back for damage to his bike and clothing. A small amount was also requested for telephone calls and postage.
We ultimately negotiated a settlement figure of £6,376 for our client.
