Two companies fined after customers suffer injuries in an unsafe construction site

K Regulatory Materials Summaries

A retail company and construction contractor have been fined at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court after two customers suffered injuries due to tripping over the concrete disabled ramp that was being constructed in front of the store in Dinas Powys, Vasle of Glamorgan in South Wales. A Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation found that the stores could have reasonably been closed for the three days necessary to complete the construction works, but the work was done during store hours.
