Six people were taken to Arrowe Park Hospital yesterday after a car crash on Telegraph Road, Heswall, when a Nissan Micra collided with a Ford Fiesta.
A teenage boy was killed in the crash and three of the casualties were described as being in a critical condition by police.
The incident is the latest in a long line of car accidents in the area, according to the Liverpool Daily Post.
In June, 2008, a man was trapped in his mangled car after a crash near the junction of Telegraph Road and Thurstaston Road. He was treated for serious chest injuries.
And, in 2007, a pensioner was killed when a medical student crashed into her Micra.
A new £700,000 roundabout was put in place 18 months ago to try to curb crashes at the accident black-spot and reduce whiplash injuries.
James Ellershaw, a rugby player with Jersey Rugby Club, recently underwent surgery after breaking both of his arms in a car crash.
