The family of a three-year-old girl who was run over by a pensioner in York are still waiting to receive injury compensation, although the motorist has been banned from driving for life.
Violet Thompson, 81, accidentally drove into the Velez-Colby family of four, knocking mother Jennifer over and driving over her daughter Rosie, The Press reports.
Rosie fortunately survived the incident, although she spent eight days in hospital with internal injuries and suffered scarring to her face.
Ms Thompson pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and has been banned from ever getting behind the wheel again.
She also faces a civil court case over injury compensation for the Velez-Colby family.
The case follows reports in the Shropshire Star that a drink driver has been disqualified from driving for 18 months as well as being ordered to pay GBP 510 in costs and compensation to the shop he crashed into.
