A schoolboy who suffered horrific injuries after being pulled under the wheels of a bus may be set to receive a huge injury compensation payout from the bus company.
In October 2006 Luke Murtagh, who is now 15, got the fabric of his trousers caught in the wheels of a bus operated by Arriva London South, the Croydon Advertiser reports.
He was pulled under the wheels leaving him with severe damage to his skin and injuries to his hip, spine and leg, as well as emotional trauma.
Luke has since undergone hours of operations, including cosmetic surgery, as well as receiving psychological counselling.
Arriva is disputing the extent of the damage caused, but it is thought the final injury compensation sum will be decided in a forthcoming second hearing in court.
It follows a report in the Norwich Evening News that a man has been ordered to pay £200 in compensation to the victim he injured while reversing the wrong way up a one-way street.
