Construction firms urged to tighten up on work injuries

Construction companies in Cumbria are being give an opportunity to avoid injury compensation claims by attending a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) event on September 30th.

A free training day has been planned at the University of Cumbria’s conference centre in Penrith, which will offer the latest information on cutting down on work injuries in the construction sector.

Themes for the day will include effective site management, occupation health risk management and the safest use of work equipment.

"If you have a small building, construction or contracting company or if you are self employed and would like up to date advice to help you get to grips with health and safety then this free event is a must for you," commented HSE principal construction inspector Mark Cottriall.

The event will follow a similar day organised by HSE at Haydock Racecourse, which provided advice to over 200 construction workers and self-employed builders.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19364506-ADNFCR
