A councillor in Bradley is seeking injury compensation after she was hurt slipping on ice after a meeting of the parish council.
Conservative councillor Patricia Fairbank, 74, of Craven District Council suffered multiple compound fractures to her right leg after she fell in Bradley Village Hall car park, requiring her to walk with sticks or a Zimmer frame, the Telegraph and Argus reports.
Bradley Village Hall is currently investigating the incident, although representatives denied to confirm whether they intended to defend the injury compensation claim or not.
"I know the thought of someone claiming compensation really winds people up and a lot of folk are really greedy these days, but this accident has really interfered with the quality of my life," Ms Fairbank told the paper.
It follows reports in the Liverpool Daily Post that lawyers in the city are expecting a flurry of injury compensation claims after the recent icy weather.
