Cyclist sustains whiplash injury in road accident

A cyclist sustained a severe whiplash injury in a recent road accident in York.

Gavin Wormald, of St Oswald's Close in Wilberfoss, told the York Press that he was cycling to work along Heslington Lane in York when he was hit by a dark grey hatchback.

The incident took place at the mini roundabout junction with Broadway on May 4th at around 08:40 BST.

Mr Wormald has been left with severe whiplash, which has forced him to sign off work as a bus driver for Transdev.

"I was in hospital for five hours having X-rays after the accident and even now, over a week after the accident, I am in a lot of pain," he told the newspaper.

The 31-year-old is appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward, perhaps so he can look into claiming personal injury compensation.

MK News recently reported that two women had sustained whiplash injuries in a collision in Milton Keynes.
