Tourist destinations in the south-west are to receive some advice on keeping holidaymakers safe and avoiding injury compensation claims by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Caravan, camping and holiday park owners have been invited to a series of events that will run from the end of January until the beginning of March in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.
As well as learning about risk assessment, HSE will dispense advice on subjects like gas and electrical safety, Legionnaires Disease, fire regulations, asbestos and swimming pool management.
"No one can afford either in monetary terms or simple human terms to treat safety lightly," commented Max Walker, HSE head of operations for the south-west.
"This is why we and our partners have put together this series of events which will give useful, practical and easily-implemented advice."
HSE has also targeted farmers with a recent campaign which aims to raise awareness of the number of work injuries occurring in the agricultural sector.
