A motorist has suffered a whiplash injury in a car accident in Sedgefield, Stockton-on-Tees.
He also sustained a possible fractured wrist in the accident, Durham Constabulary has revealed.
The 27-year-old passenger that was in the Citroen C2 car at the time suffered more serious injuries, including a fractured chest bone.
Police said that the collision took place at around 23:15 GMT on Monday (December 13th).
The car is said to have hit a tree after it left the east-bound carriageway near Bradbury.
"After hitting a kerb and colliding with a tree, the car rebounded back onto the carriageway, throwing the front-seat passenger clear of the vehicle," a Durham Constabulary spokesman said.
Anyone with information on the incident is being urged to contact the police.
Earlier this month, the Plymouth Herald reported that Konrad Chalupa, 26, had been banned from driving for 12 months after he crashed his car and caused a van driver to sustain a whiplash injury.
