Merseyside mother considering compensation claim after playground injury

A mother from Merseyside has launched a personal injury claim for compensation after her five-year-old daughter was injured in a fall in a playground.

Amanda Rood told the Liverpool Echo that her daughter Ellie-May suffered a broken arm when she fell in the playground at Ravenscroft Primary School.

The five-year-old endured hours of surgery to repair the damaged bone and her shattered elbow following the fall.

Doctors have informed Ms Rood that her daughter may not regain the full use of her arm for another five years due to the extent of the injuries she suffered.

Ms Rood from Kirkby is now considering taking legal action against the school, claiming that the children were not adequately supervised during their lunchtime break, which, because of their young age, she feels amounted to negligence.

A spokesperson from Knowsley Council said a full investigation is taking place into the incident at the school.
