A man who attacked a Brierley Hill nightclub bouncer has been landed with a GBP 750 injury compensation bill.
Shawn Jones, who has previous convictions for violence, approached the Maya Bar at the Waterfront before being told that his friend could not enter the premises, the Dudley News reports.
The men left but returned shortly later, at which point Mr Jones threw a punch at bouncer Mark Tucker, knocking him out and causing a cut that required ten stitches in hospital.
A judge at Wolverhampton Crown Court imposed a GBP 750 injury compensation sum to be paid by Mr Jones, who narrowly avoided a jail sentence for his violent behaviour.
The incident follows news that royal marine Tom Knight has been ordered to pay GBP 1,500 in compensation after he headbutted and punched a Royal National Lifeboat Institution lifeguard, leaving him with a broken nose and eye socket.
