Pub attacker must pay injury compensation

A man from Shirebrook has been handed a GBP 5,000 injury compensation bill after he violently attacked a man outside a pub.

Ricky Nussey had been drinking with Gavin Thomas at the Gate in Langwith earlier this year, the Chad reports.

When the pair left the pub around midnight, Mr Nussey was caught on CCTV attacking his friend.

Mr Thomas suffered a fractured eye socket and a laceration to his eyelid in the assault and required surgery at the King’s Mill hospital the next day.

As well as being ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work, Mr Nussey was made to pay GBP 5,000 worth of injury compensation to Mr Thomas at GBP 100 per week.

It follows reports in the Herald that a Royal Navy sailor who attacked a man in a nightclub has been ordered to pay GBP 500 in injury compensation to his victim.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19425033-ADNFCR
