Safety event aims to cut out work injuries

Two free events to help business avoid injury compensation claims and work injuries is being held in Hereford and Worcestershire.

The county’s Working Well Together group is staging a pair of two-hour seminars aimed at helping firms in the construction industry to cut down their work injuries and improve their general health and safety performance.

Barbara Cliff, construction health and safety awareness officer at the Health and Safety Executive, said it is vital that companies are given as much information as possible.

"There are more than two million people working in Britain’s construction industry but over the past 25 years, more than 2,000 of them have died as a result of injuries suffered at work," she added.

The meetings, which take place on September 23th and 24th, follow news that a crane company has been fined and may face injury compensation claims after two men died and a third was injured at an incident in Durrington.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19330589-ADNFCR
