A woman who was hit with a bottle during a Christmas Eve outing at a Stockport pub has won her compensation claim on the third attempt.
Hayley Foster was in the Fir Tree pub in Reddish when a fight broke out and she received a blow to the head, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The incident left her with a deep cut above her left eye and several other lacerations.
Her initial two compensation claims from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority were turned down because the police said she did not cooperate with officers at the scene.
But Ms Foster, aged 18 at the time of the incident in 2007, persevered with her personal injury claim through law firm Pannone and has now been awarded GBP 1,500 in compensation.
Another Stockport woman was recently awarded compensation after an incident at a restaurant in the town.
Paula Jeffries broke her ankle falling down a ramp as she left the Gatley Tandoori and went on to spend four days in hospital with a blood clot.
