Superhero bar brawl ends in injury compensation bill

A man left scarred for life in a superhero-themed bar brawl in Blackpool is in line to receive GBP 2,500 in injury compensation.

Daniel Marks, who was wearing a Spider-Man outfit at Schofield’s bar on Clifton Street at the time the incident occurred, stepped in to try to diffuse an argument between two other men, one of whom was dressed as Captain America, the Blackpool Gazette reports.

One of the men, Allan Porter, reacted by breaking a glass in Mr Marks’ face, causing permanent scarring to his lower cheek.

He has been handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence at Blackpool magistrates court in addition to an injury compensation bill for GBP 2,500 and 200 hours of unpaid work.

It follows news that a student who was left brain-damaged after an attack involving a claw hammer at school is waiting to see how much injury compensation he will be awarded.ADNFCR-2070-ID-19420421-ADNFCR
