The victim of a horrific playground attack in Swindon has launched a massive injury compensation claim in the high court.
Henry Webster was left with brain damage and severe emotional trauma after a gang of fellow pupils left him fighting for his life at Ridgeway School in 2007, the Swindon Advertiser reports.
The teenager, then 15 years old, was beaten with a claw hammer by one of a gang of 13 young men and boys, who were last year sentenced for their part in the attack.
Now Henry has begun an injury compensation claim against the school, claiming it allowed the attack to happen by failing to maintain discipline amongst its pupils.
Henry’s case follows reports in the Isle of Wight County Press that three girls at Medina High School have been ordered to pay compensation to their teenage victim, who suffered a fractured cheekbone during a playground attack.
