Our client riding his bicycle along Hills Road in the direction of Station Road in Cambridge. The Defendant, driving a Hyundai Coupe and positioned in the opposite direction to the Claimant, turned right into a side road forcing our client to brake sharply and to fall from his bicycle.
As a result of the fall our client suffered injury and loss.
Our Clients’ Injuries
Two broken ribs, injury to right shoulder and right arm, and laceration to right eyebrow.
How Hayward Baker helped
The defendant insurers admitted liability for the accident shortly after we submitted our client’s claim.
A medical examination with a medical expert was arranged, as we still had to prove our client’s injuries were as a result of the accident, who would examine our client and formulate a report upon his injuries. It would be this report we used to help prove our client’s injuries were as a result of the accident and aid us in valuing his claim.
The report also supported the following claim for Special Damages:
- Travel expenses to and from medical appointments
- Cost of repair to damaged items
- Care and assistance around the home
Settlement
We negotiated settlement for our client in the sum of £9,000
